Svetlana Kolbaneva
Journalist, news service editor of Cascade Media Group. Author and producer of the program Delo Vkusa
TV journalism, gastronomy, history of the region, linguistics, endless search for information, and communication with people merged into a bombastic cocktail of a professional reporter Svetlana Kolbaneva. Cooking and talking well are the main principles of her work. For more than 20 years, she has hosted the program Delo Vkusa on the Kaskad TV channel, the first media project to talk about the regional culinary heritage. To one of Kaliningrad’s major restaurants, the editorial staff handed over the recipe for the legendary Koenigsberg klops.
The need to find reliable sources, which were very few, led Svetlana first to libraries and archives in Germany, and in 2018 to Kant’s BFU. In 2020, she graduated with a master’s degree in history and defended her master’s qualification work «Culinary Heritage of East Prussia ” with honors. She is currently lecturing on the history of East Prussian cooking and gastronomy as part of various courses at the university. She also spoke at the workshop Flavors of the Vishtynetsky Upland organized in Krasnolesye (Kaliningrad region) in 2021.
In parallel with her work on TV and culinary research, Svetlana was an author of texts for the media group Western Press, brand-chef of gastropub London, organizer of Big Lunch within the celebration of the Day of Kaliningrad, curator of the project International Lunch in the art-space Gate. And under the contract with the regional agency for tourism she became the author of the idea and texts of the Tourist Passport and the guidebook to the rural estates of the Kaliningrad region Fresh Taste (in Russian, German and English, which Svetlana is fluent in, as well as in Polish).
