Artem Ryzhkov

A stronghold of the film industry in the region. The person who brought up an entire generation of Kaliningrad residents at film festivals and cultural events. Artem Ryzhkov’s name has become a household name and is inextricably linked with the heyday of the Zarya cinema. Creator of one of the first art spaces in the city (Kvartira), popularizer of the aesthetics of records, and Woody Allen. In different years he took part in the production of television projects about music and cinema: Camera Obscura and Music Non-Grata and the original short audio sketches «Life on the Moon» on Radio Monte Carlo.

Author of four novels. A father of three children.

As an art director of the cinema Zarya, he organized more than 50 events, supervised the most unexpected premieres, famous film stars, and directors’ visits, held film festivals of short, European, Polish, Chinese, and other films. Some of them are almost impossible to see in the standard schedule of cinemas in the country.

He currently remains the program director of the festivals: European Union Film and the Short Film Korotche. Artem continues the tradition of cultural development of Kaliningrad residents and becomes a creative producer of the School of Creative Industries (Kaliningrad). He is a co-organizer of the Art&Play Festival of Creative Industries, which took place in 2021. The festival, under Artem’s administration, is likely to become annual.
