Graduated from the acting department of the Republican College of Culture and Art, and from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) with a degree in directing. Honored Art Worker of Yakutia, member of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation and member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. Director of Sakha Academic Theatre named after Platon Oyunsky. Sergey is one of the most interesting, provocative and popular directors of the Russian and world stage. Author of more than 100 performances staged in the national theaters of Russia, France, Croatia, Estonia, Kazakhstan and other countries of the world. Winner of the Golden Mask Award for «Macbeth» by Eugène Ionesco and «My Friend Hamlet», a participant of numerous festivals. Winner of the Republican Arctic Film Festival in the «Best-feature film» nomination for «As long as there is a wind» (2011). The film «The God of Gyōshōgyō» received the NETPAC prize «For a unique combination of documentary style and mythological thinking expressing an authentic worldview», won at the III Yakut International Film Festival (2015), was a part of the NATIVe program of the Berlin Film Festival (2017), was awarded the first prize of the Rural Feature Films category at the Arica Nativa Film Festival, Chile (2018). In each of his works, the author primarily speaks about himself and his own vision of the world. He combines ethnic culture and modern European cultural trends in its work, and is known for working with grotesque images. After the release of the film «My Love», Sergey is now considered the godfather of Yakut independent cinema.
