Eduard Novikov

Director, cameraman, screenwriter

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and the Guild of Filmmakers of Russia. In 2001 graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television with a degree in cinematography. His graduation film called «God» won the prize of the «Kodak» at the International Festival of student films «PeterKiT», as well as the prize for the best feature film of the International Festival of Debut and Student Films «The Beginning» in St. Petersburg. Since 2003, he has been working in the «Sakhafilm» film company. In 2018, he shot «The Lord Eagle». The film won for «Best Director» at the 1st at the Crystal Spring film festival in Yessentuki, as well as the Grand Prix of the Moscow International Film Festival, the award for the «Best Film» — the statue of Saint George. At the 40th Moscow Film Festival, the film won the Fipressi and the Film Club awards. In 2021, the Arctic Indigenous Film Fund, represented by its ambassadors — Nikolai Koster-Waldau, the star of the Game of Thrones, and Baltasar Kormákur, Hollywood filmmaker, supported Eduard Novikov’s project with the working title «On the Edge of the World».
