Architect, advisor to the Governor of Kaliningrad Oblast

From 2013 to December 2017, served as Chief architect of Kaliningrad. Since 2018, holds the position of advisor to the Governor of Kaliningrad Oblast.

From 1996 to 2000 taught in Civil Engineering College in Kaliningrad.

During his employment at the city administration of Kaliningrad as Chief architect, focused on limiting and banning a large number of outdoor advertising types by amending regulations (for several years, advertising on objects of cultural heritage, residential buildings’ rooftops, gas stations was banned, including pavement signs, stretch advertising posters hanging over the roads, ads on road barriers, fences, etc.).

In order to address the architectural and urban planning concepts at the stage of forming the TORs, the regular work of the city council was resumed, all thanks to Mr. Genne. And as a result, the project of establishing a large number of public spaces has been initiated, project documentation prepared, plans implemented (see the full list on the city administration website). Actively participated in the preparation of the urban environment (facades, landscaping) for the 2018 World Cup. Organized and hosted regular events aimed at the forming of experts’ and the general public opinion on the importance of urban topics: public spaces, the river as an element of urban composition, re-development, maintaining objects of cultural heritage.

Currently focused on the initiation and maintenance of objects on the landscaping agenda, organization of design studios and other forms of public discussion around significant elements of the urban environment. Works with the city administration and the government of Kaliningrad Oblast and other subordinate institutions. Organizes and hosts architectural competitions together with Kaliningrad branch of the Russia’s Architects Union.

Projects, completed since 2018, together with the team of designers, builders include: construction of pedestrian zone on Prof. Baranova St.; (the first phase of) Kneiphof landscaping; adaption of a cultural heritage site of «Ponart 1849» brewery for modern use; etc.
