Stepan Burnashev

A real explorer, a conjurer of the film genre. Being a real champion he is, Stepan didn’t need to go to film schools to become an independent, talented cinematographer. All his works are original. After all, the main principle of Stepan is to not be influenced by anybody or anything. To only create things that go from the depths of heart and soul. These traits help Stepan create two completely diverse films per year and become one of the leading directors of Yakutia, defining the current state of Yakut national film industry. Director of «Yt» (2021), «Cursed Ground: Doom» (2021), «Black Snow» (2020), «Republic Z» (2018), «Another Life» (2015).

Prizes and Awards:

«First love» was awarded the Grand Prix of the Cheboksary International Film Festival 2015 for «Best feature film»;

«Another life» was awarded the prize of the III Yakut International Film Festival «for an honest story about the search for oneself in the modern world»;

«Black snow» won the Producers Guild of Russia’s top honor as well as the Grand Prize of the feature films competition of the «Window to Europe» festival;

«NETPAC» diploma and special jury prize of the Warsaw International Film Festival for the film «Yt».
