Actor of dramatic theatre and film

Director, announcer, reader and performer of traditional Yakut form of singing

Since 2002, he has been working at the Sakha Academic Theatre named after Platon Oyunsky. Since 2012, a part-time actor at the Olonkho Theatre. There are dozens of dramatic roles and performances to his credit. As a director in the Sakha Theatre, he staged numerous plays, including «Thank You» based on «Duel» by Mar Baijiev, «The Last Prayer» based on «Gelver’s Night» by Ingmar Vilkvist (2021), «Mother» by Karel Capek (2022).

In March 2012, the «Elley Bootur» play was recognized as a masterpiece of world culture and was presented in various cities of France at the invitation of UNESCO headquarters. In 2012, the premiere of «The Shaman’s Dream» by Alexei Kulakovsky was held in Moscow, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the writing of the poem. As part of an exchange tour, Vasili partook in the «KyisDebelie» play at the Noh Theatre in Nara, Japan. In 2015, he participated in the «Art of Olonkho Land» project at the International «Culture Days» event in Beijing.

In 2018, he participated in the «Territory. Magadan» festival. «My Friend Hamlet», a play by William Shakespeare that he staged is a nominee for the Golden Mask of 2019.

Was an actor in films like «Haar Kynat», «Black Snow», «Closure». He played Gregory in «The River» by Alexey Balabanov, which was screened at the International Moscow Film Festival. In 2022, the NTV TV channel hosted the premiere of the «Gold» TV series featuring Vasili Borisov.

Honored Artist of Yakutia. Awarded the badge «Distinguished Cultural Expert of Yakutia».
