Semyon Amanatov

Cinematographer

In his works, Semyon always looks for new ways and techniques of shooting, strives to do his job in an unconventional and interesting way, thereby expressing his unique Yakut film style.

He worked as a cinematographer for three months in China, also worked in South Korea for a while.

He worked on «The Sun Doesn’t Set Above Me» (2019), «Black Snow» (2021), «Closure» (2021), «Helicopter» (2021), «24 Snows», «The Lord Eagle» and other feature films.

«Jesegei Deity», a film by Sergey Potapov, became the Grand Prix winner in the Turko-Mongolian Film Competition at the Yakut International Film Festival. «Helicopter» became an undisputed favorite of the 30th «Kinoshok» Film Festival. The film won for best cinematography. Semyon also received such awards as «Best Cinema Work» for «24 Snows» at the XI Northern Character International Film & TV Festival; «Best Cinema Work» for «Interesting Life» at the XVII International Festival of Debut and Student Films «The Beginning»; BEST FILM award for «The Lord Eagle» at the 40th MOSCOW IFF; «Best Cinema Work» for «The Lord Eagle» at the IV International Film Festival «Silver Akbuzat»; «Best Cinema Work» for «The Sun Does Not Set Over Me» at the 4th Sochi International Film Festival and Awards (SIFFA), and many more.

A distinguished cultural expert of Yakutia. Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Russian Guild of Cinematographers and Russian Geographical Society. Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Sakha and public award Alampa «Cinematographer», named after Yakut writer Anempodist Sofronov. He was awarded the «Pride of Amga» badge and the Certificates of Appreciation by the Yakutia Government.
